| Biography:
|
Mauro Farina is the embodiment of music. He lives,
eats, drinks, and breathes music of all kinds 24 hours
a day, seven days a week.
Mauro was born in Brescia, a small town in between
Milan and Venice. The Beatles were his largest
influence in music as a young child and by the age of
six he already knew all their songs. His record collection
began by the purchase of “I Want To Hold Your Hand”
and soon after that, he had his first guitar and taught
himself how to play it. At the age of 11 he founded
his first group called ALBATROS.
ALBATROS saw Mauro playing the rhythm
guitar as well as being the group’s main vocalist. They
performed Beatles cover songs like “Get Back”
and “Hey Jude” as well as many other popular
groups at the time. Naturally, Mauro attended
school at the same time and at the age of 18 he went
to university to study mechanical engineering. However,
his passion for music was always at the forefront in
his mind.
Mauro’s next musical step in life was joining
Italy’s best dance group of the 70’s and 80’s called
CARAVAN at the age of 19. For 15 years CARAVAN
entertained countless fans with their great sense of
music, style, and freshness. They were the first Italian
group to cover the songs of Bobby Orlando, Sylvester,
Patrick Cowley, K.C. & the Sunshine Band, Giorgio Moroder,
among others.
Then, one day in 1975 when CARAVAN was performing
in a castle for 15,000 pumped up fans located in Verona,
Mauro met up with Giuliano Crivellente,
a talented young virtuoso who was already busy working
in recording studios collaborating with many popular
Italian artists at the time. Immediately after their
meeting, they began recording songs in Giuliano’s
studio and together as the years followed, they wrote
more than 1,000 tracks, produced more than 1,500 titles,
and sold more than 10,00,000 albums as well as several
million singles.
In 1981 Mauro Farina established the FACTORY
SOUND STUDIO and THE SAIFAM GROUP srl! Soon
after that after a few years of meeting new producers
and artists, he first big hit to emerge from the FACTORY
SOUND STUDIO was “Hey Hey Guy” by Ken
Laszlo. This song was an amazingly huge success
and hundreds of thousands of copies were sold worldwide.
The 80’s saw Mauro Farina and the FACTORY
SOUND STUDIO enjoy countless hits with many, many
stars. His music sold all over the world, especially
places like Japan, Southeast Asia, Europe, and North
America. Mauro can even be credited for inventing
the “Japanese High-Energy” style that is still
popular today. By the end of the 80’s, Mauro
was beginning to receive his first gold discs, and this
success overflowed right into the 1990’s.
By this time, Mauro had met up with more key
people who would help him achieve continued success
as his business grew larger and sold more and more music.
Along with the support of Johnny Di Martino, Fabio
Serra, and Fabio Turatti, Mauro would go on to write
and produce numerous more hit singles for the next 10
years. Most notably, “Tell By Your Eyes” by DR.
ZIVAGO sold over 500,000 copies and then “What’s
Up” by D.J. Miko sold over 1,000,000 copies
worldwide! It was in the 1990’s that important THE
SAIFAM GROUP labels like 21st Century and
One Way Records were born and the globe enjoyed
their music year after year after year.
Today, Mauro continues his brilliant work as
President and C.E.O. of THE SAIFAM GROUP srl.
He runs five different companies under the THE SAIFAM
GROUP name as well as owning six recording studios
and manages a staggering total of 37 record labels.
He has also joined up with American Grammy award winner
Jeff Johnson of Interhit Records and domestic
US compilations of THE SAIFAM GROUP’s music have
already been released to great success.
